BRAINS Group of Accountants was set up in 1987 to provide training and technical support for local firms of accountants and today has more than 300 firms throughout the Thames Valley using our services. Over 50 of these firms subscribe to the complete range of services and are members of the BRAINS Training Consortium The initial aims of the consortium were to establish a range of courses for all partners and staff and to develop a comprehensive audit system for members. There is now a range of more than 80 courses held in 5 different locations, using experienced presenters. Members and course delegates are regularly invited to put forward ideas for new courses and seminars. Core courses are free to members, and there are significant discounts on computer courses and additional seminars. This year, by joining together with Mercia Group Ltd, who have over 20 years of experience training accountants, we are offering an even wider range of courses and venues, as well as additional services for members of BRAINS. The BRAINS audit documentation has been developed by partners and managers from the member firms, ensuring a practical, effective system. In addition, audit file reviews are carried out by consultants to monitor its use. Other services for members include:

BRAINS provides a comprehensive technical support package for members, helping them to achieve and maintain high standards. Certain courses and seminars are offered outside the membership, with discounts for bookings of 3 or more courses together. Courses are also arranged in house for firms as appropriate.
